Mark Ivester

Mark Taylor Ivester, age 61 of Clarkesville, passed away Monday, February 06, 2017. Born in Stephens County on April 9, 1955, he was a son of Avanelle Taylor Ivester of Clarkesville and the late Junior Ivester. Mr. Ivester was a self-employed grading contractor and also a poultry farmer. He enjoyed spending time with his family and fishing. Mr. Ivester was a faithful member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, where he was very active in the Food2Kids Ministry. In addition to his mother, surviving are wife of 30 years, Sarah Eller Ivester; sons, Logan Ivester and Luke Ivester of Clarkesville; brother and sister-in-law, Keith & Denise Ivester of Clarkesville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Becky & Tony Mixon of Clarkesville, Gwen & Pal Fry of Demorest, and Caren & Kerry Sikes of Dalton; also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are 2:00 pm Thursday, February 9, 2017, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Chaplain Richard Pletsch, Rev. Tony Kemp, and Chaplain Allen Waldrop officiating. Interment will follow in Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm on Wednesday. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to Ebenezer UMC, 4000 Hollywood Hwy, Clarkesville, GA 30523. An online guest register is available and may be viewed at www.mcgaheegriffinandstewart.com.
