Marshall Carnes, age 67, of the Hollywood Community, Clarkesville, passed away Friday, August 09, 2013 at a local nursing home. Born on February 27, 1946 in White County, he was a son of the late Solomon Robert and Margaret Self Carnes. Mr. Carnes was formerly employed with Mt. Vernon Mills. In addition to his parents, Mr. Carnes was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Nation Carnes; brothers, Ausborn and John Carnes; sisters, Leota and Margaret Carnes. Survivors include brothers, William Michael Carnes of Cleveland, Howard Lee Carnes of Gainesville and Robert James Carnes of Lula; sister, Kathleen Dorsey of Gillsville; numerous nieces and nephews.
