Martha Pauline Smoot Hobbs, age 90 of Tifton, Georgia, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2019. Born in Ocilla, Georgia on August 19, 1928 to the late Joseph Wheeler Smoot and Sallie Ethel Peek Smoot. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Shepard Hobbs. Surviving are her son, Gary Hobbs of Cornelia; grandsons and spouses, Gary Vaughn Hobbs, Jr. (Connie) of Hiawassee, Justin Matthew Hobbs (Tara) of Cornelia, Benjamin Grant Hobbs (Amy) of Mt. Airy; 8 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 am, Friday, March 8, 2019 in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Funeral Home with Mark Huff officiating. Interment will follow in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 am until the service hour on Friday at the funeral home.
