Melvin Harlan Tullis

Melvin Harlan Tullis, age 75, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2020. Born on March 5, 1945, in Habersham County, he was a son of the late Harlan Tullis and Fannie Mae Burgess Tullis. Mr. Tullis was owner and operator of Mt. Airy Pawn. He served in the United States Army and was a member of the Grant Reeves VFW Post #7720. Mr. Tullis attended Mt. Airy Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Frances Tullis; son and daughter-in-law, Adam and Shelley Tullis of Mt. Airy; daughter, Melissa Tullis of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Austin and Zachary Tullis; brother and sister-in-aw, Jerry and Teresa Tullis of Mt. Airy; sisters and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Ronnie Stanich and Eva Mae Tyler; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm on Monday, December 28, 2020, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with Dr. Butch Franklin officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery with military honors provided. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Sunday, December 27, 2020, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Airy Baptist Church, P.O. Box 258, Mt. Airy, Georgia 30563. Those in attendance are asked to please adhere to the public health and social distancing guidelines regarding COVID-19.
