Minnie Ruth Burton Trotter Turner

Minnie Ruth Burton Trotter Turner, age 86 of Lula, passed away Wednesday, February 03, 2016, at Habersham Medical Center. Born in Habersham County on December 29, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Grant Burton and Dora York Burton. Mrs. Turner was retired from Fieldale and was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. She was described by her family as a selfless person who was always willing to help others. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking, canning, and singing. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Randall Trotter; brothers, Gene and Arnold Burton; sister, Cora Lee Kimsey; grandson, Robert Kevin Kilgore. Surviving are husband, Roy Turner of Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Rick & Mozelle Trotter of Lula; daughter and son-in-law, Melody & Rickey Mitchell of Cornelia; brother, Paul Burton of Murrayville; sisters, Ethel O’Kelley and Eva Mae Garner both of Cornelia, Pearl Taylor and Pat Kranats both of Demorest; 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Funeral services are 2 pm Friday, February 5, 2016, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Roy Lee Mitchell, Rev. Milton Harris, and Rev. Christian Trotter officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Gainesville. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
