Paul L. Knight Obituary

Paul L. Knight of Clarkesville, Georgia, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2014. He was born in Atlanta on September 24, 1953. Throughout his life he was an avid outdoors man and enjoyed hiking, camping, viewing wildlife, and engaging in amateur astronomy with his son. Paul strongly believed in the importance of higher education for his children. He was proud to see all four children graduate from college. He was a collector of many eclectic treasures including coins, doubloons, vintage toys, and knives. He also enjoyed watching his grandson play baseball and visiting his daughter in New Orleans, Louisiana. Paul is survived by his children Heather Bogue, Chriss Nichols, Paul L. Knight II, and Whitney Kleinert; daughter-in-law Bonney Reed-Knight; sons-in-law Carsie Bogue, Lon Nichols, and Alex Kleinert; and grandsons Logan (age 10) and Chandler (age 4) Bogue. Paul is also survived by his sisters Emily Thomas, Joan Calder, Carol Ball, and Barb Knight. Those who preceded him in death are his parents, Betty Christian and John Knight. A family service will be held in Clarkesville on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at 10:00 am. A private burial will follow at the family cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations to CampFire USA Georgia Council or American Cancer Society be made in Paul’s name.
