Pearl Tomlin

Pearl Gibson Tomlin, age, 72, of Cornelia, passed away Friday, January 06, 2012 at Habersham County Medical Center. Born in Rabun County on July 14, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Donnie Nation Gibson. Mrs. Tomlin was employed for a number of years at The Oaks at Scenic View, attended New Hope Baptist Church and was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Pearl was a homemaker and enjoyed flowers, cooking and spending time with family and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Ethel House; brothers, Gerald Gibson, Paul Gibson, Charlie Gibson and Bill Gibson. Surviving are her husband Thurlow Tomlin of the home; son, David Tomlin of Cornelia; daughters, Carol Smith of Clarkesville, Connie McKie of Cornelia, Jill Tomlin of Cornelia; brothers, Earl Gibson of Clarkesville, Ernest Gibson; sisters, Hazel Nation of Demorest, Betty Winkler of Demorest, Carolyn Martin of Clarkesville; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 08, 2012 at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with Rev. Chris York officiating. Interment will follow in Fairfield Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Chad Holcomb officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8 pm on Saturday.
