Rev. Roy Kenneth Pilcher, age 68 of Cornelia, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2017, at his residence. Born in Cobb County on March 16, 1949, to the late William Roy Pilcher and Helen Jane Holtzclaw Prater. He was the Pastor of Christian Baptist Church for 35 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Gloria Pilcher and Mary Pilcher. Surviving are loving wife of 46 years, Carolyn Cochran Pilcher; sons, Nathaniel Kenneth Pilcher of Baldwin and Davey Pilcher of Gainesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra & Calvin Gosman of Florida, Teresa & Cliff Kelley of Alto, and Melissa & Shane Eisel of Alto; 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie & Carol Ann Pilcher of Gainesville; sisters, Evelyn Pilcher of Gainesville and Brenda Brown of White County; also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services are 2:00 pm Friday, September 8, 2017, at Christian Baptist Church, Hwy 129, Cleveland, GA 30528, with Rev. Bill Trotter, Rev. Harris Borum, and Rev. Bobby Whitmire officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Christian Baptist Church from 1 pm until 9 pm on Wednesday and Thursday.
