Rose Jamison

Rose Buchanan Jamison, age 89 of Clarkesville, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at her residence. Born in Cashiers, North Carolina on January 2, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Danial & Minnie Greggory Buchanan. Mrs. Jamison was a retired textile worker with Burlington Industries and was a member of the Gethsemane Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, the outdoors, yard work, and flowers. ‘ In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jamison was preceded in death by her daughter, Ruby Lee Jamison; son, David Jamison; sisters, Pat Buchanan, Hilda Jamison; brothers, Earl and Claude Buchanan. Survivors include her sons, E. D. Jamison of Gainesville, Roy Jamison, of the Chopped Oak Community, Jack Jamison of Locust Grove, Tim Jamison of Eastanollee; daughters, Glenda Cheesebro of Toccoa, Kareen McIntyre of Clarkesville; sister, Elouise Crane of Highlands, NC; brothers, Nick Buchanan of Sandy Springs, SC and Floyd “Smokey” Buchanan of Norton, NC; 17 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other friends and relatives. Funeral services are 11:00 am Friday, June 28, 2013, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Donald Grizzle officiating. Interment will follow in Shirley Grove Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm on Thursday. McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home of Cornelia (706/778-8668) is in charge of arrangements.
