Sandra Gail Wade Strickland, age 67 of Demorest, passed away Sunday, September 02, 2012. Born in Banks County, GA on April 04, 1945, she is a daughter of Cara Bonds Dodd of Cornelia and the late C.L.C. Wade, Jr. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jessa Hope Tomlin and a brother, Doug Wade. Ms. Strickland had previously worked as a secretary with New York Life Insurance Company and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her mother, survivors include daughter, Kristal Leah Tomlin of Demorest; daughter and son-in-law, Shelley and Jason Dean of Gainesville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Danny and Lela Wade of Alto and Jackie and Gloria Wade of Cornelia; brother, Phillip “Bush” Wade of Alto; sister and brother-in-law, Jan and Douglas Gulley of Alto; sister, Judy Turner of Alto; grandchildren, Haley Griggs, Kylan Dean, Destini Dean, Kaitlin Victoria Tomlin and Austin Cain Tomlin; three great grandchildren. Memorial services are 4:00 pm Wednesday, September 05, 2012, at McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Chapel with Rev. Roy Lee Mitchell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 pm on Wednesday, prior to the service.
