Stanley Archer Allen, age 62, of Baldwin, GA, passed away Monday April 11, 2011. Born on November 18, 1948, in Habersham County, GA, he was a son of the late Edward Carroll and Anne Davis Allen.Mr. Allen was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cornelia and was a United States Marine Corp veteran.He served during the Vietnam War from 1967 -1969.Mr. Allen was a machinist by trade and enjoyed tennis and water sports. Survivors include brothers, John C. Allen of Hallettsville, TX and Jeffery B. Fricks of Spartanburg, SC; 4 nieces also survive. Funeral services are 1:00 pm Friday, April 15, 2011 at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Dr. Eric Spivey officiating.Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardenswith full military honors by the Grant Reeves VFW Post #7720, the Habersham County American Legion Post #84 and the Rabun County DAV Chapter #15. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-9 pm Thursday. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
