Steve Jackson

Steve Mitchell Jackson, age 54 of Demorest, passed away Sunday, December 25, 2011, at his residence. Born in Fort Riley, Kansas on July 25, 1957, he was the son of Philip Jackson, Sr and the late Margaret Watkins Jackson. Mr. Jackson was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church and served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He enjoyed camping, fishing and boating. Surviving are son, Chris Jackson of Clarkesville; daughter and son-in-law, Athena & Josh Harkins of Alto; father and stepmother, Philip and Mary Lou Jackson of Demorest; grandchildren, Skylar Jackson and Dennis Harkins; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry P. & Denise Jackson and David T. & Charlene Jackson all of Alto; brother, Philip N. Jackson, Jr of Demorest. Memorial services are 2:00 pm Thursday, December 29, 2011, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with full military honors provided by the Rabun County DAV Chapter #15, the Habersham County American Legion Post #84 and the Grant Reeves VFW Post #7720. McGahee-Griffin & Stewart (706-778-8668) of Cornelia is in charge of arrangements.
