Tommy Cash, age 82 of Mt. Airy, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at his residence. Born in Habersham County on December 3, 1933, he was a son of the late Thomas Ameal Cash and Birdie Greenman Cash. Mr. Cash was retired from The Saddle Shop and a member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church. He enjoyed all aspects of farming, gardening, talking and fellowshipping with family and friends, and coon hunting. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by daughter, Donna Rose Dyer and brother, Ray Cash. Surviving are wife of 59 years, Geraldene Long Cash of Mt. Airy; son, Stewart Cash of Mt. Airy; daughter, Lynne Head of Mt. Airy; daughter and son-in-law, Juanita & Calvin Frady of Mt. Airy; sisters, Frances Ledford and Ruth Mealor both of Demorest and Bertha Lee Green of Mt. Airy; eight grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Funeral services are 2 pm Friday, May 20, 2016, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Dr. Butch Franklin officiating. Interment will follow in Camp Creek Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Thursday.
