Willard Garrison

Willard B. Garrison, age 84, of Cornelia, GA, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Habersham County Medical Center. Born in Banks County on September 08, 1927, he was a son of the late Enoch Anderson and Pauline Cochran Garrison. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Sue Garrison; brother, Cecil Garrison. Mr. Garrison was a lifelong resident of Banks and Habersham Counties. He was a member of Cornelia United Methodist Church and was a US Army WWII veteran. Mr. Garrison was employed with Chicopee Manufacturing and Habersham Hardware. He retired as co-owner and operator of G& L Upholstery. Mr. Garrison was a handyman who enjoyed woodworking and yardwork. Survivors include wife of 61 years, Janette Ivie Garrison of Cornelia; daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Robert Honeycutt of Mt. Airy; sister, Mary Ruth Garrison Hosea of Seneca, SC; grandchildren, Cody Honeycutt of Mt. Airy, Jake Honeycutt of Winston-Salem, NC, and Stroud Honeycutt and wife Meah of Norfolk, VA; great granddaughter, Maggie Honeycutt. Funeral services are 2:00 pm Sunday, October 02, 2011 at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with Dr. Phil DeMore officiating. Interment will follow at Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Saturday. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
