Willene Landers Harris, age 87, of Cornelia, GA, passed away Tuesday, March 08, 2011 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Born on June 10, 1923, in Habersham County, GA, she was the daughter of the late James Oscar Landers and Wealtha Elizabeth “Bessie” Loudermilk Landers.Mrs. Harris was a member of Level Grove Baptist Church and was retired from the Habersham County School System. She was devoted to her church and enjoyed spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Harris was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry Odell Harris; daughter, Barbara Dell Harris; sisters, Wealtha Redwine and Carrie Blair. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and David Irvin of Cornelia and Lynn and Marvin Coffee of Cornelia; daughter, Kay McEachern of Demorest; grandchildren, James Irvin of Cornelia, Kathy Meredith of Demorest, Mary Beth Coffee of Cornelia and Kelly McEachern of Demorest; great grandchildren, Joseph Meredith, Jake Meredith, Kaley Irvin and Emily Irvin. Funeral services are 2 pm Thursday, March 10, 2011 at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Brian James and Rev. Terry Rice officiating.Interment will follow in Welcome Home Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Paul Wright officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 pm on Wednesday.
