W. Charles Ansley, age 79 of Mt. Airy, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2016. Born in Habersham County, Georgia on September 25, 1936, he was a son of the late Homer and Marcelle Anderson Ansley. Mr. Ansley was a retired supply room clerk from Ethicon with 37 years employment. He was a member of Hazel Creek Baptist Church. After retirement, he became a courier for Regions Bank and Community Bank and Trust. He enjoyed farming and spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ansley was preceded in death by his brother, Leon Ansley. Surviving are his loving wife and best friend of 57 years, Guynell Lawrence Ansley; children and spouses, Sheila and Scott Barrett of Mt. Airy, Dwayne and Renee Ansley of Jefferson, and Melanie and Tony Sullivan of Mt. Airy; sister, Brenda Goodin of Griffin, grandchildren, Heath (Jessica) Barrett, Josh (Tricia) Barrett, Brianna Barrett, Emily Ansley, Amy Ansley, Madeline Ansley, Andy Sullivan, and Haley Sullivan; and expecting a great granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Friday, May 27, 2016 at Hazel Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Trent Smith and Rev. Billy Burrell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
