Annie Mae Elrod, 86, of Dawsonville passed away Sunday September 7, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a short illness. Born April 5, 1928 in Lumpkin County to the late Ben and Fannie Robinson, she lived most of her life in Dawson County. Mrs. Elrod was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Hill Full Gospel Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joe Dan Elrod; daughter, Carol Elrod Almond; son, Jerry Lamar Elrod; sisters, Velma Rice, Eula Grant, Iris Lowe, Frances Sumner, Hazel Eady, Maggie Abbott; and brothers, Price Robinson and Tommy Robinson. Surviving are her daughter and son in law, Tammy Jo and Michael Smith, Dawsonville; 10 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday September 10, 2014 at 1 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jimmy Chester, Rev. C. B. Martin, Mr. Billy Rice and Rev. Tony Holtzclaw will officiate. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Full Gospel Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday after 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
