Benny Roberts

Benny R. Roberts, 73, of Dawsonville passed away Friday November 4, 2016 at his residence following a sudden illness. Born February 28, 1943 in Hall County to the late Otis and Sally Roberts, he lived in Dawson County for the past 30 years. Mr. Roberts retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation after over 25 years of service. Benny was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Forsyth County and was also preceded in death by his wife, Linda Roberts; daughter, Tammy Wallis; granddaughters, Tabitha Crawford, Mary Nichole Crawford; and several sisters and brothers. Surviving are his children, Jeff Roberts, Dawsonville, Tonya and Tommy Pruitt, Dawsonville; sisters, Mildred Propes, Flowery Branch, Bill Gardner, Flowery Branch; brother, Gene Roberts, Flowery Branch; five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday November 6, 2016 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Allen Swafford and Rev. Greg Rawlins will officiate. Interment will follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Forsyth County. The family will receive friends Saturday from 3 until 8 at the funeral home.
