Brian Rider

Brian Rider, 34, of San Antonio, Texas passed away Monday March 19, 2018 at his residence following a sudden illness. Brian was born on December 7, 1983 in Landstuhl, Germany. He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and attended the Bulverde Ward in San Antonio. He graduated from Randolph High School in 2002 and attended STVT technical school in San Antonio where he studied welding. He spent some time in Puerto Rico working for FEMA helping with relief efforts for Hurricane Harvey. He was currently working as a security guard. Brian enjoyed working on his car and spending time with his dog Snoopy. He really enjoyed serving and helping others and also spent time working on the church farm and in the Bishop’s Storehouse. Brian is preceded in death by his sisters, Brandy Rider, Sarah Rider and grandparents, Werner Ihde, Horace Rider and Lorene Barnes. Surviving are his father and step-mother, Ricky and Norma Rider, San Antonio; mother and step-father, Margrit and Michael Dupe, Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; daughter, Brandy Rider; siblings, Mallory Rider and Dylan Rider, both of San Antonio; grandmother, Inga Ihde, St. Simons Island, Georgia; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives. Funeral services will be held Wednesday March 28, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Bishop Michael Wall will officiate. Interment will follow in Dahlonega Memorial Park Cemetery.
