Bronscile “Tommie” Bennett, 85, of Dawsonville passed away Saturday March 12, 2011 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a short illness. Born April 18, 1925 in Bartow County to the late Erby and Leilabel Stephens, she lived most of her life in Dawson County. For many years, along with her husband, they owned and operated a poultry farm after which she was employed as an insurance agent for National Consultants, Inc. where she was their top salesperson for over 10 years in a row. Tommie had been active in many social and community clubs and activities and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lyman Bennett, and a brother, Erby Stephens, Jr. Surviving are her daughters and son in law, Lynn Nahlik, Dawsonville, Marla and James Lemley, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Brandon Nahlik, Eric Sheffield, Kaycee Nahlik; and a great grandson, Andrew Sheffield. Funeral services will be held Tuesday March 15, 2011 at 2 o’clock at Bethel United Methodist Church. Dr. Orin Sampson and Rev. Eddie Herring will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends after 5 o’clock Sunday and all day Monday at the funeral home.
