Carolyn Irene Higgins, 75, of Dawsonville passed away Thursday December 6, 2012 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a short illness. Born February 14, 1937 to the late Dave and Eliza Kimbral, she lived most of her life in Dawson County. Mrs. Higgins worked numerous places throughout Dawson County and was employed for 11 years as a custodian with the Dawson County School System. She was a member of Dawsonville Methodist Church and was also preceded in death by her sisters, Pearl, Blanche, Christine, Frances; and brothers, Chesley, Kimsey, and Linsey. Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Eugene Higgins, Dawsonville; son and daughter in law, Wayne and Kathy Higgins, Dawsonville; sisters, Martha Molder, Cumming, Brenda Thompson, Cumming; brothers, Lesley Kimbral, Cumming, Leonard Kimbral, Jasper; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held Saturday December 8, 2012 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Sylvester Ridings will officiate. Interment will follow in the Yellow Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 2 until 9 at the funeral home.
