Charlene Bruce Adams, 84, of Dawsonville passed away Friday August 11, 2017 at her residence following a period of declining health. Born November 5, 1932 in Forsyth County to the late Charlie and Delia Witherow, she lived most of her life in Dawson County. A homemaker at her death, she was employed at Sweet-Orr for 30 years. Charlene was also preceded in death by her first husband, Loyd Bruce; son, James Bruce; sister, Maxine Clark and a brother, Gene Witherow. Surviving are her husband, Hulon Adams, Dawsonville; daughters and son in law, Sara and Douglas Pinson, Gainesville, Judy Bruce Pressley, Dawsonville, Donna Painter, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Robert Pinson, Boyd Pinson, Shane Pressley, Jerry Pressley, Jerry J. Painter; 9 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters in law, Jewell and Janene Witherow, Gainesville, Paul and Shirley Witherow, Cumming; and a number of other relatives. Funeral services will be held Tuesday August 15, 2017 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Glenn Byrd will officiate. Interment will follow in the Dawsonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 until 8 and Monday from 10 a.m. until 8 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to assist with final expenses.
