Clayton Stowers Wallace, 89, of Dawsonville passed away Friday July 24, 2015 following a period of declining health. Born September 29, 1925 in Hall County to the late J. Stowers and Jamey Wallace, he lived most of his life in Dawson County. Mr. Wallace was formerly employed by Lockheed Aircraft and Big Canoe. For a period of time he owned and operated Clayton Wallace Garage and was a farmer. Clayton was a member of Harmony Baptist Church and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Eleanor Wallace Swafford; sisters, Clara Mae Fausett and Ione Warren; and a brother, Clyde Wallace. Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Hazel Smith Wallace; son in law, Gerald Swafford; grandchildren, Beth and Brent Covington; sister, Grace Pirkle; sister in law, Barbara Wallace; all of Dawsonville, and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Funeral services will be held Monday July 27, 2015 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jason Hamby, Rev. Stephen Davis and Rev. Stevie Warren will officiate. Interment will follow in the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 until 8 at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed at www.beardenfuneralhome.com.
