Cleveland Carter Obituary

Cleveland Carter, 58, of Dawsonville passed away Thursday October 31, 2019 at his residence following a short illness. Born February 15, 1961 in Gwinnett County, he had lived in Dawson County for the past 12 years having moved from Gainesville. Mr. Carter formerly was a driver for Tim Hubbard Trucking. He enjoyed working of cars, watching westerns on TV, and he was very devoted to his family. Cleveland was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by his father, Richard Carter; twin brothers, Ronald and Donald Carter; and his step-father, Jerry Lee Blalock. Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Amy Carter, Dawsonville; children, Michael Carter, Jasper, Ricky and Crystal Carter, Jasper, Victoria Carter and her fiancé Zachery Swofford, Dawsonville, Savannah Carter and her fiancé Trent Hensley, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Juleeanna Carter, Leeland Carter, James Carter; mother, Betty Blalock, Dawsonville; sisters and brothers in law, Tina Thornton, Dawsonville, Rita and Dwight Nelson, Gainesville, Angie and Randy Lynn, Commerce, Christy and David McGee, Winder; brother and sister in law, Randy and Becky Carter, Midway; and a number of other relatives. Funeral services will be held Monday November 4, 2019 at 12 noon at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Tim Hubbard will officiate. Interment will follow in the Clear Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Johns Creek at 2 o’clock. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 until 8 at the funeral home.
