Dennis Richardson

Dennis G. Richardson, 68, of Dahlonega, GA passed away Sunday February 2, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a short illness. Born October 20, 1945 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois to the late Gene and Vernetta Richardson, he had lived in Dahlonega for the past ten years having moved from Griffin, GA. Dennis was a retired civil engineer with the Georgia Department of Transportation with 34 years of service. For the past ten years he was the office manager for Amicalola Propane in Dawsonville, GA which is owned by his son and daughter in law, Matt and Kristin. Affectionally known as “Poppa” he was a loving husband who was also very devoted to his sons and especially his grandchildren. Dennis was an avid fisherman, deer hunter, gardener, and was an accomplished inventor. Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Jean Anglin Richardson, Dahlonega; sons and daughters in law, Chris and Cathy Richardson, Lawrenceville, Jon Richardson and his fiancé, Lisa Harn, Griffin, Matt and Kristin Richardson, Dahlonega; grandchildren, Jordan Richardson, Donovan Richardson, Maya Richardson, William Richardson, Maddie Richardson, Mary Anglin Richardson, Reagan Richardson, Genevieve Richardson, Isaac Harn; special friend, Evelyn King; brother and sister in law, Danny and Connie Richardson, Belle Rive, IL; sister, Denise Richardson, Port Charlotte, FL. Memorial services will be held Saturday February 8, 2014 at 11 o’clock at the Dahlonega United Methodist Church. Rev. Steve Schofield and Rev. Richard Broom will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday from 9 a.m. until 11 at the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Mothers Morning Out Program at Dahlonega United Methodist Church, P. O.
