Edna Gazaway Obituary

Edna Gazaway, 81, of Dawsonville passed away Saturday March 16, 2013. Born August 1, 1931 to the late Grady and Lizzie Tatum, she was a lifelong resident of Dawson County. Edna was a graduate of Dawson County High School after which she attended North Georgia College and earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Georgia. She retired from licensing and inspection of child care centers for the Georgia Department of Human Resources after over 20 years of service and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dawsonville. Edna possessed a great love and devotion for the Dawson County community and worked tirelessly helping others and her church. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Betty Jo Turner; brother, Harold Tatum; and a son in law, Fred Youngman. Surviving are her daughter, Linda Youngman, Dawsonville; son, Rande Gazaway, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Jaime and Jason Harper, Cumming, Bo and Elizabeth Wilson, Cumming, Gina Wilson, Dahlonega; great grandchildren, Addison Peck, Lauren Harper, Morgan Harper, Sophie Wilson; and a number of other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held Saturday March 23, 2013 at 11 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Stan Lovell will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday from 4 until 8 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Dawsonville Lion’s Charities, c/o: Dawsonville Lion’s Club, P. O.
