Edward D. “Ed” Powell, 55, of Dawsonville died Thursday July 23, 2009 at his residence following a sudden illness. Born in Paris, Texas, Mr. Powell had lived several years in Dawson County. He was a former crane operator working in heavy construction. Surviving are his mother, Martha Forrester, Titusville, FL; sisters, Kathleen Rivest, Winston Salem, NC, Janice Powell, Winston Salem, NC, Ann Peach, Cleveland, GA; brother, Stephen Powell, Little Rock, AR; and a number of other relatives.
