Eula Grant Obituary

Eula Belle Grant, 91, of Gainesville passed away Sunday October 2, 2011 at Chestnut Ridge Nursing Center following a period of declining health. Born October 5, 1919 in Hall County to the late Joseph Benjamin and Fannie Pearl Robinson, she lived most of her life in Dawson and Forsyth Counties. A homemaker at her death, Mrs. Grant formerly owned and operated a poultry farm and worked for the Forsyth County Board of Education at Chestatee Elementary School until her retirement. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church and was also preceded in death by her husbands, Charley Turner and Jay Grant; daughters, Shirley Smith, Charlene Kersh, Charm Mooney, Rita Weaver; grandson, Stacey Weaver; great great granddaughter, Cheyenne Stanford; four sisters and two brothers. Surviving are her daughter, Martha Reeves, Dawsonville; sisters, Maggie Abbott, Roswell, Annie Mae Elrod, Dawsonville; eleven grandchildren twenty one great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, and a number of other relatives. Funeral services will be held Wednesday October 5, 2011 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Joey Gilbert and Rev. Robert Kersh will officiate. Interment will follow in the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1 until 9 at the funeral home.
