Franklin Barnell Beck, 70, of Dahlonega passed away Monday March 21, 2011 at Chestatee Regional Hospital following a sudden illness. Born May 30, 1940 in Hall County, he lived most of his life in Dawson and Lumpkin County. Mr. Beck was a retired poultry farmer and was a U. S. Army veteran of Viet Nam. He was preceded in death by his father, George Frank Beck. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Annabell Beck, Dahlonega; son and daughter in law, Tony and Minnie Beck, Dawsonville; mother, Dorothy Beck, Dahlonega; grandson, Benjamin Beck, Dawsonville; sisters and brothers in law, Carolyn Norwood, Murfreesboro, TN, Mary & Bob Davis, Chatsworth, Bonnie May & Ronald Hughes, Ellijay, Joyce Ann & James Lynn, Chatsworth; brothers and sisters in law, Carlton & Diane Beck, Gainesville, George Beck, Dawsonville, Daniel & Bobbie Beck, Gainesville; and a number of other relatives. Funeral services will be held Friday March 25, 2011 at 2 o’clock at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Rev. Scott Day and Rev. Gary Keown will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
