George Abee

George Abee, 73, of Dawsonville passed away Friday April 17, 2015 at his residence following a period of declining health. Born February 25, 1942 in Lumpkin County to the late Fred and Emma Lou Abee, he had lived in Dawson County since 2001 having moved from Sugar Hill. Mr. Abee served a tour in the U.S. Air Force after which he served in the National Guard retiring with 25 years of military service. George also worked as an electrician for 30 years. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Roy Abee, Charles Abee, Morris Abee, Fred M. Abee, Christopher Abee; and sisters, Doris Abee and Bobbie Abee. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Jo Abee; children, Brian and Holly, Bobby and Kathy, Wayne and Leacia, and Tammy; sisters, Iola Daniel, Christine White, Bonnell Robinson; brothers, James Abee, Herbert Abee; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. A memorial visitation will be held Tuesday April 21, 2015 from 12 noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed at www.beardenfuneralhome.com.
