Gracie Ray, 79, of Dawsonville passed away Tuesday October 18, 2011 at her residence following a short illness. Born May 25, 1932 to the late John W. and Kate Gaddis, she was a lifelong resident of Forsyth County. A homemaker at her death, Mrs. Ray retired from Fieldale Poultry after many years of service. She was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church and was also preceded in death by her husband, James Charley Ray; sister, Bessie Heath; brothers, Junior Gaddis, Royce Gaddis, Loyd Gaddis and Russell Gaddis. Surviving are her children, Joyce Beck, Dawsonville, Cathy and Charles Stargel, Dawsonville, Jackie Ann and Mike Bruce, Dawsonville; sisters and brothers in law, Annette and Gene Carnes, Dawsonville, Annie Maude Gayton, Dawsonville; brothers and sisters in law, Edd and Ellen Gaddis, Dawsonville, James and Chester Gaddis, Dawsonville, Dorothy Gaddis, Canton; eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and a number of other relatives. Funeral services will be held Wednesday October 19, 2011 at 2 o’clock at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. Rev. Wilson Pruitt, Rev. Gene Carnes and Rev. Tony Holtzclaw will officiate. Interment will follow in the Four Mile Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed at www.beardenfuneralhome.com.
