Gracie Ray, 79, of Dawsonville passed away Tuesday October 18, 2011 at her residence following a short illness. Born May 25, 1932 to the late John W. and Kate Gaddis, she was a lifelong resident of Forsyth County. A homemaker at her death, Mrs. Ray retired from Fieldale Poultry after many years of service. She was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church and was also preceded in death by her husband, James Charley Ray; sister, Bessie Heath; brothers, Junior Gaddis, Royce Gaddis, Loyd Gaddis and Russell Gaddis. Surviving are her children, Joyce Beck, Dawsonville, Cathy and Charles Stargel, Dawsonville, Jackie Ann and Mike Bruce, Dawsonville; sisters and brothers in law, Annette and Gene Carnes, Dawsonville, Annie Maude Gayton, Dawsonville; brothers and sisters in law, Edd and Ellen Gaddis, Dawsonville, James and Chester Gaddis, Dawsonville, Dorothy Gaddis, Canton; eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and a number of other relatives. Funeral services will be held Wednesday October 19, 2011 at 2 o’clock at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. Rev. Wilson Pruitt, Rev. Gene Carnes and Rev. Tony Holtzclaw will officiate.
