Jackie Butler, 58, of Dawsonville passed away Thursday July 2, 2020 at Northside Hospital Forsyth following a sudden illness. Born March 28, 1962, Jackie had been a resident of Dawson County for over 10 years coming from Shakerag. A loving and devoted mother and nanny, her family was her life. She was very fun-loving, outgoing, outspoken and enjoyed gambling, especially playing poker. For many years she worked as a realtor and also as a caregiver. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Jeanette Samples, husband, Earl Butler and a number of siblings. Surviving are her fiancé, Gary S. Patterson, Dawsonville; daughters and sons in law, Samatha and Dean Garmon, Dawsonville, Sabrina and Tony Martin, Cumming; brother and sister in law, Marvin and Fannie Samples, Ellijay; sister and brother in law, Sue and Wendol Hemrick, Cumming; grandchildren, Cody Garmon, Lindsay Martin, Kirsten Butler, Summer Cagle; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Garmon, Reid Patterson, Paisley Reeves; other relatives. Funeral services will be held Monday July 6, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. David L. Patterson, Rev. Danny Ray Martin and Rev. Garry Jerome Stone will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday July 5 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Monday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service.
