James A. “Jimmy” Lewis, 62, of Dawsonville died Wednesday October 14, 2009 at Northside Forsyth Hospital following a short illness. Born January 22, 1947 in Sylvania, Georgia to the late Junior and Lucy Lewis, he had lived in Dawson County for the past 10 years having moved from Snellville. Mr. Lewis for many years was a warehouse supervisor for Coats & Clark and was employed by A One Box Company until his retirement. He possessed a passion for gardening and woodworking and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife of 29 years, Zelma Lewis, Dawsonville; children, James A. “Jim” Lewis, Dawsonville, Elizabeth Lehan, Cumming, Robin Pruett, Dawsonville, Amy Arons, Dawsonville; brothers, Johnny Lewis, Loganville, Steve Lewis, Dallas, Kim Lewis, Alpharetta, sister, Lynn Courson, Kingsled; 10 grandchildren. Memorial services will be held Sunday October 18, 2009 at 2 o’clock at Trinity Baptist Church. Rev. Dean Pugh and Rev. Jackie Stowers will officiate. The family will receive friends after 12 noon Saturday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to offset final expenses.  Condolences may be sent to www.beardenfuneralhome.com.
