Jimmy Long

Jimmy Long, 59, of Dawsonville died Saturday October 30, 2010 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. A native of Kennesaw, he had lived in Dawson County for the past 27 years. Mr. Long owned and operated Long’s Plumbing and was preceded in death by his father, James T. Long, Sr.; stepson, Marshall Hill; and sister, Rachel Lanning. Surviving are his wife, Sandra Long, Dawsonville; children, Chris Long, Acworth, Joey Long, Acworth, Ryan Long, Acworth, Laura Long, Dahlonega; mother, Velma Long, Kennesaw; sisters, Bernice Wilson, Dawsonville, Cathy Helton, Canton; brother, Timothy Long, Marietta; grandchildren, Kristin Long, Tanya Long, Alyica Hill, Ben Gonzalez, and a number of other relatives. Funeral services will be held Tuesday November 2, 2010 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Greg Farris, Rev. Kenneth Dukes and Rev. Jerry Black will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday from 5 until 8 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Kare for Kids, P. O. Box 211, Dawsonville, GA 30534.
