John Blackstock

John B. Blackstock, 87, of Dawsonville died Tuesday January 12, 2010 at the Gold City Convalescent Center following a period of declining health. Born May 1, 1923 in Forsyth County to the late George and Conie Blackstock, he moved to Dawson County five years ago. Mr. Blackstock was formerly employed by Tyson Foods, Inc. and was also preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Blackstock; brothers, Roger Blackstock, Bonnie Blackstock; and sisters, Chiplee Harris and Marie Hall. Surviving are his stepchildren, Margaret and Jacky Evans, Dawsonville, Shirley and Charles Gallimore, Cumming, Wyndell Orr, Roswell, Edith Woodruff, Dawsonville; brother, Glendon Blackstock, Cleveland, and several step grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday January 14, 2010 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. William Blackwell and Rev. Mark Flowers will officiate. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Gardens. The family will receive friends after 5 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to www.beardenfuneralhome.com.
