Kathy U. Cowan, 62, of Dawsonville died Monday May 25, 2009 at Kathy’s Personal Care Home in Cleveland following an extended illness. Born on December 9, 1946 in Montreal Canada, she had lived in Dawson County for over 10 years having moved from Dixon, Tennessee. Mrs. Cowan retired from management with Nortel Networks after over 20 years of service after which she was employed by Hewlett-Packard. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Episcopal Church in Dahlonega and was active in community service. She volunteered with Kare for Kids and the Dawson County Mentoring Program. Surviving are her husband, Don Cowan, Dawsonville; niece, Phebe Bentley, Canada; nephew, Danielli Bentley, Canada. At her request Mrs. Cowan was cremated and no services are planned.
