Larry G. Lynn, 74, of Dawsonville, GA passed away Friday September 19, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a short illness. Born July 25, 1940 in Belmont, NC to the late Campbell “Doc” and Blanche Lynn, he had lived in Dawson County for the past 20 years having moved from Gastonia, NC. Mr. Lynn spent over 20 years serving his country in the U. S. Navy, the Air National Guard, and retired from the U. S. Army. Following his retirement from the military he was an officer for the Charlotte City Police Department for many years. He was an active member of the Dawson County American Legion Post 247 and was also preceded in death by a brother, Howard “Buddy” Lynn. Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Juanita Lynn, Dawsonville; children, Terry and Sharon Lynn, Ft. Mill, SC, Jeannie Perlov, Rock Hill, SC, Jessica Lynn, Clover, SC; grandchildren, Brandon Lynn, Savannah Perlov, Hayden Perlov; and a brother, Jack Lynn, Lexington, NC. A memorial service will be held Tuesday September 23, 2014 at 3 o’clock at McEwen Funeral Home, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3.
