Louise Moore Walls, age 88, of Dawsonville died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, January 8, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Glyndon Walls, her parents, Linton and Ora Moore, and her brother, Ivan Moore.

Ms. Walls was a retired educator who taught students in Dawson, Forsyth, and Cobb County. After her retirement, she served as a member of the Dawson County Board of Education for many years. She was one of the oldest members of Concord Baptist Church. Before her illness, she was very active in her church teaching Sunday School, serving as the church clerk, participating in all WMU activities, and singing in the choir. She also wrote and published a book about the history of her church. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed traveling, reading, doing crossword puzzles, sewing and crafting.

Ms. Walls is survived by her children, Elaine and Steven Wilson, Dawsonville, Danny and Alice Walls, Dahlonega, and Jenni Walls, Dawsonville; brother and sister in law, Bobby and Ann Moore, Gainesville; brother, Harris Moore, Cumming; brothers in law and sisters in law, Grady and Evelyn Walls, Gainesville, Rupert and Mary Walls, Harley Walls, Charles and Janice Walls, Cumming, Evelyn Pylant, Marietta, Betty Walls, Cumming, and Patsy and Norman Miller, Cumming. She was Mama Wez, the proud grandmother of Kristi and Stephen Gerrells, Kerri and Tony Whitmire, Kasey and Becca Wilson, Dahlonega, David Walls, Norcross, Amanda and Daniel Wilhelm, Acworth, and Todd Walls, Athens. Seven great grandchildren also blessed her life. Many nieces, nephews, and dear friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held Monday January 11, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at Concord Baptist Church. Dr. Scott Gilbert, Rev. Stephen Gerrells and Rev. Scott Sorrels will officiate. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Gardens.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 until 8 at the funeral home.
