Margaret Wilson

Margaret Gunter Wilson, 93, of Gainesville went home to be with the Lord on April 4, 2013 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a period of declining health. She was born June 3, 1919 in Fulton County to the late Harl Edward Gunter and Clara Bell Davis Gunter. Margaret was a graduate of Rabun Gap Nacoochee School and attended Business School. Along with her husband of 63 years, Henry F. Wilson, she lived in Dawson County for 40 years and moved to Gainesville following his death. She was a bookkeeper for G. H. Martin Boathouses until her retirement and was a member of New Holland Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Frances Bernhardt and Ruby Cantrell. A special thanks goes to Betty Jo, her caregivers, Dogwood Forrest Assisted Living, Doris Gunter, A Helping Hand Home Care, her sitters, Elaine and Jennifer, and Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Surviving are her son, Phil Wilson, Demorest; granddaughter and her husband, Wendy and Jeff Bigbie, Atlanta; great granddaughters, Isabelle and Emily Bigbie, Atlanta; great nieces, Paige Bernhardt and Shay Horner. Funeral services will be held Sunday April 7, 2013 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Doug Godby will officiate. Interment will be held in Georgia National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 12 noon until the service hour. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center, 2150 Limestone Parkway, Suite 222, Gainesville, GA 30501.
