Mary McRoberts Walsh, 63, of Dawsonville passed away Saturday December 17, 2011 at her residence following an extended illness. Born December 15, 1948 in St. Petersburg, FL to the late James and Marian McRoberts, she had lived in Dawson County since 2003 having moved from Norcross. Mrs. Walsh earned a Masters Degree in Special Education from the University of Florida and taught Special Education until her retirement. She continued teaching as a private tutor after moving to Dawson County. An accomplished pen and ink artist, some of her works were published and she was a member of the Heart In Hand Quilting Guild. Surviving are her husband of 36 years, Kevin Walsh, Dawsonville; son and daughter in law, Brendan and Jenean Walsh, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Memorial services will be held Friday January 20, 2012 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Dr. Maxine Edwards will officiate. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 o’clock.
