Roger Padgett

Roger Padgett, 69, of Dawsonville passed away Sunday November 17, 2013 at his residence following a sudden illness. Born February 20, 1944 to the late George and Lillie Padgett, he was a lifelong resident of Dawson County. Roger retired as a U. S. Mail carrier after 30 years of service, was a U. S. Marine Corps veteran of Viet Nam and was a deacon of Juno Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Mary Padgett Goode; and brothers, Floyd Padgett and Dewey Padgett. Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Deborah Padgett, Dawsonville; son, Dustin Padgett, Dawsonville; brother in law, Hermon Chester and his wife Martha, Dawsonville; sister in law, Guinnett Holtzclaw and her husband Ray, Dawsonville; a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Funeral services will be held Wednesday November 20, 2013 at 2 o’clock at Juno Baptist Church. Rev. Dennis Bottoms, Rev. Tim Biddy and Rev. Tommy Weldy will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2 until 9 at the funeral home.
