Waymon Williams

Waymon Dee Williams, 67, of Dawsonville, GA passed away Sunday April 13, 2014 at his residence following a sudden illness. Born March 8, 1947 in Clarksville, Tennessee, he had lived in Dawson County for the past 6 years having moved from East Point, GA. Mr. Williams was a graduate of Hampton High School in Dickson, TN after which he attended Austin Peay University and earned a Masters degree from Georgia Tech. He was formerly employed as an engineer with Indianapolis Power and Light and retired after teaching in the public school system. He was a U. S. Army veteran of Viet Nam where he received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Waymon was preceded in death by his mother, Hattie Jackson Williams. Surviving are his sister, Jan Marie Williams, Clarksville, TN; brothers and sisters in law, Welvin and Rhonda Williams, Woodstock, Hurley and Shonnel Williams, Antioch, TN; and a number of other relatives. Memorial services will be held Saturday April 19, 2014 at 11 o’clock at the Cabin Row Missionary Baptist Church in Southside, Tennessee. Pastor James Trotter will officiate.
