Fort Valley-Laurie Anne Vega Walker, 47, went home to be with the Lord on June 25, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Services celebrating Laurie’s life will be held on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 12:00. Family will welcome friends Friday, June 30, 2017 from 11:00 to 12:00 at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel. Laurie was born on April 22, 1970 in Williamsburg Virginia to the late Jimmie Vega and Patricia Pearson Holloway. Laurie worked as an LPN at the Oaks Nursing Home. She was a loving wife and mother. She never met a stranger and loved to laugh. She loved being outdoors, specifically butterflies, wildlife, and animals. She loved cooking for all to enjoy. She also loved music and attending concerts with her family and friends. Laurie will be greatly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her Dad, Laurie was welcomed home by her Grandparents: Oscar and Archie Pearson. Left to cherish her memory is her beloved companion and soul mate Jack Dowdy; children: David and Madison Walker and their father: Mark Walker; mother: Pat (Ken) Holloway; sister: Vickie (John) Miller; stepsister: Ramona Holloway; stepbrother: Kenneth Holloway; niece: Laura Leigh Miller. The family would like to thank all of those who prayed for her and reached out to her in any way. A special “Thank You” to the hospice nurses and aides at Pine Pointe Hospice, who took such wonderful care of Laurie.
