Mrs.Betty Ruth Bennett McKern, age 81, of Fairview Avenue, Hartwell, Georgia passed away Friday, February 28, 2020 at Hart Care Center. Mrs. McKern was born on July 21, 1938 in Canon, Georgia to the late Hoyt and Lottie York Bennett. She was a member of Hartwell Church of God. Betty worked in the Auto Manufacturing Industry and was a retired Assembler from Monroe Automotive. She is survived by granddaughter, reared in the home Nikki Bailey Shirley (Kendall) of Eastanollee GA, Daughters: Kris McKern Dickerson (Mark) of Hartwell, GA and Debbie McKern of Royston, GA. Sister: Helen Bennett of Canon, GA. Grandchildren: Gage Brown, Joey Bailey and one great grandchild Landon Bailey. She is also survived by a long time special friend, Barbara Cox and her beloved extended family of the residents and staff at the Hart Care Center. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Warren McKern, parents, children; Keith McKern, Kent McKern, and infant son Johnny M. McKern. Services for Mrs. Betty McKern will be held on Monday, March 2, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. in the afternoon in the Chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, with Rev. Johnny Stowe and Mr. Fred Greenway officiating. Private burial will be held at the Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends on Monday, March 2, 2020 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. just prior to the service at the funeral home. The family will be at their respective homes. Coile and Hall Funeral Directors 333 E. Johnson Street, Hartwell GA, 30643 is in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Betty McKern.
