Mr. Charlie Schlock, age 65 of 1382 Moore Road, Hartwell, Ga., went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 5, 2016 at his home. Born on November 25, 1950 in Anderson, S.C., he was the son of the late Jack Schlock and Ruth Bates Schlock. Charlie retired from Royston Police Dept., on April 13, 2013. He worked as a communication officer with Hart County, Franklin County.and Royston P.D. He also was Jail Administrator under Sheriff Bob Cordell. He had 35 years of service with Law Enforcement. Charlie was an Army Veteran in Korea on the DMZ,in 1969 with the 2nd Division and 1st and 9th Infantry. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 109 in Hartwell. He is survived by; his wife of 28 years, Karen Seymour Schlock of the home, daughter, Kristy Angel Schlock Neeley and her husband, Scott of Hartwell, sister, Stacy L. Schlock of Hawkinsville, Ga., grandchildren, Cheyenne, Savannah, Zander Boy, Remy his grand kiddo who he loved so dearly and spending time with them. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Ora L. Vickery and Lillie Mae Schlock Vickery,and by his brother, Danny Lee Schlock parents, Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Four O;Clock p.m. from Oak Bower Baptist Church. Rev. Tommy Cleveland and Chief Anthony Davis will officiate. Burial will be at Nancy Hart Memorial Park with military honors provided by American Legion Post 109. Rev. Tommy Childress will officiate at the graveside.. The family will receive friends from 5 - 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
