Mr. Eugene “Gene” T. Cleveland, age 81, of 265 Arthur Street, Hartwell, GA, went to be with the Lord on June 25, 2015 at the Brookdale Assisted Living of Hartwell. He was born on November 3, 1933 in Hart County, Georgia to the late Denver W. Cleveland and Drucilla Vickery Cleveland. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia and an Accountant with Tenneco Automotive, he was a former teacher and bus driver in the Hart County School and was a personal tax preparer. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church in Anderson, SC and a member of Gideon’s International. His family and friends hold him in high regard as a faithful Husband, Father, and Grandfather. Mr. Cleveland is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sue Ayers Cleveland of the home; daughter: Debbie C. McCurley and her husband Ricky McCurley and their three children, Zach, Anna Grace and Eli; Son: Michael Cleveland and his wife Anja A. Cleveland and their daughter Baylee Hope. Brothers: Kenneth Cleveland and his wife Barbara of Hartwell, Roy Cleveland and his wife Linda of Gainesville, GA and sister: Shelby Brown of Hartwell. He is preceded in death by his parents. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 27, 2015 from 5-7:00 pm at the Coile Hall Spagnoli Funeral Home. The funeral Service will be held on Sunday, June 28th at 3:00 p.m. at the Cornerstone Baptist Church of Hartwell, Georgia. Dr. Don Cox and Mr. Joe Hill will officiate. Burial will follow in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park in Hartwell. The family will be at the home.
