Mr. Homer Ray Outz, age 83 of Joe Bailey Road in Hartwell, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 11, 2020 at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital. He was born on November 22, 1937 in Carnesville, Ga. He was retired from Newton Mills as a weaver and later worked for Wildcat Vans. He was a member of Flat Shoals Baptist Church. Survivors include; his children, Lynn Herring and Tommy Outz of Hartwell, Ga., brother, Noah Outz of Dewy Rose, Ga., grandchildren, Tyler, Josh, Adam, Camden, Lindsey and Brendalyn Herring. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Brenda Adams Outz and siblings, Frank Outz and Betty Jo Gentry. Funeral services for Mr. Outz will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at two o'clock in the afternoon in the Chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors. Burial will follow in the Flat Shoals Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will lie in state Monday, December 14, 2020 from 1-5pm. Face coverings and social distancing are recommended. The family has entrusted Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson Street in Hartwell to arrange and conduct his services.
