John Walton Giles

John Walton Giles, age 57, of 88 Cherokee Ridge Road, Canon, GA, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 1, 2015, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Athens. Born May 29, 1958, in Atlanta, John was a Certified Network Administrator and transportation manager. He and Susan were married 34 years, and he was happiest in the company of his family. He enjoyed playing guitar and singing, being in nature, spending time on the lake, and rescuing abandoned pets. His life was spent in love and service to his family and friends. His kind heart and loving spirit touched many lives. He is survived by his wife, Susan Garner Giles of the home; children, James Isaac Giles and wife Shianne of Hartwell, GA., and Jennifer Ashley Giles of Atlanta, GA. His grandchildren are Ava Jade Giles and Alyssa Lynn Giles. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edgar P. and Judith N. Giles. A service celebrating the life of John will be held at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 579 Fairview Ave., Hartwell, GA on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 11:00am. A reception in the parish hall will follow. Visitation will be in St. Andrew’s parish hall on Friday evening, October 16, 2015, beginning at 5:30pm.
