Lucy Oglesby

Ms. Lucy Ann Longworth Oglesby, age 62 of Hartwell went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on November 3, 1957 in Rochester, N.Y., to the late Samuel Longworth and Cornelius Rayton. She retired from Wal-Mart and was a member of Christian Worship Assembly. Lucy was a missionary loving and encouraging the elderly while visiting nursing homes. Left to cherish her memories are her children, David (Macheka) Longworth, Steven Longworth and Lela Longworth all of Hartwell and Jamie Longworth of New York, siblings, Deborah (Larry) Mitchell of Hartwell, five sisters of Florida and two brothers of Florida, step-children, Kajuanna Oglesby, Jermaine (Keesha) Oglesby, James McGee all of Hartwell and 28 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren survive. She was preceded in death by her parents and three infant brothers. Celebration of life homegoing service will be held on Monday, October 12, 2020 at Two o'clock from Christian Worship Assembly with Pastor Fredrick Vehe officiating. She will lie in state at the church at One o'clock until the funeral hour. In accordance to her wishes she will be cremated following the service. Their will be no wake.
