Mrs. Peggy "Barbara" Allen Pierce, age 78 of 205 S. Webb St., Hartwell, Ga., went to be with her Lord on Friday, January 15, 2015 at Sacred Heart Hospital, Lavonia, Ga. Born October 26, 1937 in Lavonia, Ga., to the late Parker Columbus Allen and Inez Thrasher Allen. She was retired from The Hartwell Company and was a member of Price Chapel Church of God, where she was a member of the choir and the women's ministry. She was active in her community visiting nursing homes and spreading joy. She is survived by; her son, Alan Pierce of Greenville, S.C., Steve Pierce, Royston, Ga., daughter, Jodi Pierce, Hartwell, Ga., sisters, Betty Doggett, Canon, Ga., and Mary Brown, Greenville, S.C. Grandchildren, Tony Pierce, Brandy Atkinson, Heather McKee, Nicole Childress, Parker Pierce and Jacob Pierce and two great-grandchildren survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lowell Pierce, sons, Ricky and Ronnie Pierce, brother, Johnny Allen, sisters, Colleen Booth, JoAnn Lewis and Carolyn Pierce, and by a grandson, Robby Pierce. Services celebrating the life of Barbara Pierce will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Three O'Clock p.m. from Price Chapel Church of God. Rev. Johnny Stowe, Mr. Jimmy Myerholtz and Mr. Phil Campbell will officiate.The family will receive friends from 2-3 prior to the service at the church. The family is at their respective homes. Memorials may be made to Price Chapel Church of God, 45 Price Chapel Road, Lavonia, Ga. 30553 A private burial will be at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church at a later date.
